Number Five - Off and Riding!

David prepares to leave from his home in Greers Ferry, Arkansas. His destination today is Nashville, Tennessee.  David will be arrive there by way of the Natchez Trace Highway.   He will meet Stu once he arrives.

There they are!  David has arrived safely in Nashville.  It looks like he found Stu without any problem.  Ha!  Check out the valet dude cheesing it up for the camera.  Guess this was his fifteen minutes of fame.

Mike and Pam with Joe.  The boys are preparing to leave Bemus Point, New York.  Their destination is Ron and Bonnie's home in Sunman, Indiana.

Joe and Mike arrived in Sunman several hours later than anticipated.  Joe experienced some problems with his bike.  Go figure, it's a Harley.  Anyway, the guys spent a couple of hours in the shop, the problem turned out to be nothing serious.  Whew....
The guys were thrown a "going away" cook out.  All of the Powell kids, their spouses and the grand-babies were on hand to exchange hugs and wishes for a safe and fun trip.  Ken and Sharon Perfect, along with, Joe Gills and Joan Durham came out to see the guys on the eve of their departure.

A Freddie Update

Fred's bike was able to be repaired.  He was able to get back on the road yesterday.  He did finally arrive in Omaha around 10:30 p.m.  You have to get up pretty early in the morning to foil ol' Fred.  Take that you rotten crooks!

Safe and Sound

Look out Nashville!  Stu has arrived.  There was some comment about making time for a massage while waiting for David.

Joe is in Bemus Point!  Don't you love when the plan comes together?  Tomorrow morning Joe and Mike will take off for the Hoosier state.

Stu, Joe and Freddie

Oh brother!  What on earth is this?  Looking like a rolling advertisement for the Bureau of Alaska Tourism, the rumor is that Stu is roaming the countryside, somewhere between South Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee.  He will be meeting up with Redline in Nashville on Tuesday.
RP asked, "What's next, a "Just Married" sign?"

Joe arrived in Binghamton, New York along the way to spend the night and visit good friends Linda & Gary Beagell.  Joe departed Beageeville this morning heading west to Bemus Point in order to meet up with Mike.

SPECIAL REPORT

We interrupt this post to bring you breaking news from Fred.  On day one, he traveled 375 miles ending the day in Hammond, Indiana.  He then checked into a hotel for a good night's sleep.  When he headed to the parking lot the following morning to pack his overnight gear on the bike, he realized that an attempt had been made to steal his vehicle.  The would-be thieves destroyed the ignition switch in their cowardly act to get the motorcycle running.  Fortunately for the thieves,  Fred didn't catch them in the act.  His old Special Forces training may have kicked in, being way more than those old boys bargained for!

The local police were called.  Fred is working with nearby Harley Davidson dealers to get the damage repaired.

Two More Out of the Gate!

Fred headed out from his home in Canal Fulton on Sunday afternoon.  He is en route to his grandson's baseball tournament in Omaha, Nebraska.  Following the tourney he will meet up with his five companions as they approach Nebraska.

Joe had a wonderful send off from these two little beauties as he departed his home in Salem.  He headed out on Sunday morning.

Joe's daughter and son came to bid a farewell and safe trip. Apparently his wife, Pam, was taking the photo!

First One Out of the Gate!

Stu heads into Key West, Florida after departing from Placida.
Why so early you ask?
When looking at the map of the United States Stu decided that the diagonal route cross country from the southernmost tip of Florida to the northern most tip of Alaska would be the ultimate trip.

My Horns Are Bigger Than Yours!

I know the boys are venturing to Alaska, the last frontier.
Don't you think that Ron is taking this a little too seriously?

He will definitely have that bike back to normal and be dressed appropriately before he leaves.

P.S. - Please tell Stu that Ferdinand is just a starter kit compared to this!

Random Things

Meet the Lewises:  Stu, Jill, Dixie and Smooch.  Oops, Ferdinand is there too!
Ferdinand joined Stu on the 4 Corner ride in Tombstone, Arizona.

They completed that ride together making quite a couple.
Perhaps what attracted Ferdinand to Stu was the fuzzy buffalo chaps, that's all I'm going to say about that.

It appears that Ferdinand is going to Alaska!
This bike looks like it belongs in an Old West Medicine Man Show.

Joe, David and Mike in the midst of a serious planning discussion.

Fred's motto is "Hakuna Matata".  He will definitely make sure his travel companions adopt this too.

Ron recently joined the Indiana Patriot Guard.
He has participated in four missions since the beginning of April.
