Day 31 - Edmonton, Alberta to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. New daily record - 502 miles. The five are now 8,902 miles from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Well finally, the fellas awoke to sunshine and clear skies.  No rain clouds present to dampen the morning.
The air was chilly but the guys are well prepared for that.

All of the miles that the guys logged today were on the Trans Canada Highway.

Ron is up, packed and ready to roll.

Mike's packing up and preparing for the day's ride.

Joe, David and Fred are bundled up and checking last minute things on their bikes.

At an early fuel stop the guys are approached by a couple that are curious about the guys.
It's very common for people to walk up to one of the guys, or the entire group, and strike up a conversation.
Mostly they ask questions.  Where are you headed?  Why are your bikes so dirty?  How come all the different license plates?  Where did you get those bull horns?  People in Canada and Alaska are both very friendly, as well, as curious.  They really become confused when they hear all of the different accents the guys throw at them during conversation.  David's Tennessee, Mike's New York and Joe's New Hampshire accents really stand out among the guys.

The guys transitioned into Saskatchewan.

Check the train car closely.
There's proof that they too have graffiti artists.

More fields of Rape plants.  Canola is actually an oil that is derived from the seeds of the rape plant, rapeseed (a cultivar) plant or field mustard plant.  Rape is of Latin derivation meaning turnip.
The plants are closely related.  Canada annually exports 3 - 4 million tons of the rapeseed.
The United States is also a huge producer of rapeseed.
Canola oil is consumed not only by humans but, livestock and is a source of biodiesel fuels.

The guys were able to tune into the NASCAR race from Indianapolis on their XM radios.  David, Mike, Fred and Ron brought their lunch outside so they could continue to listen to the car race.  Say, could that be considered a picnic?  Joe stayed inside the Burger King opting to have his lunch at a table. He enjoyed getting away from that motorcycle for a while.

Fred and Ron - a curbside picnic.

This is what the guys look like most of the day.  Everyone's motorcycles are running good.  However, they are filthy dirty and covered with splattered bugs.  The repair that the guys made several days ago to Joe's bike seems to be holding up well.  He's planning on making the trip home on that repair then having his local Harley dealer fix the issue.

Grain elevator and oncoming train.

Most of the day today was spent in gently rolling terrain.
There were hay fields, tons of  rapeseed fields and more cattle farms than in the past couple of days. Everybody up here makes a really big deal about the Alberta raised beef.   Hmph, it's not all that special.

They broke the 500 mile marker!  The total mileage for today was 502 miles.
The town of Regina, Alberta is where they guys will be spending the night tonight.
